Welcome to League of Prompts! We respect your privacy and want you to understand how we handle your information.

What We Collect

When You Log In with Google: We receive your Google ID (to keep you logged in), email address (to contact prize winners and send optional updates), and profile picture (shown on the site). We don't store your real name from Google; instead, we assign you a username you can change.

Your Username: The username you use on our site (either assigned or chosen by you).

Newsletter Preference: Whether you've opted-in to receive email updates.

Submissions: The prompts you enter, the haikus generated, and their scores are linked to your user ID (or a temporary guest ID).

Cookies: We use standard browser cookies to keep you logged in and track guest usage (like the one-time free generation).

How We Use Your Information

To log you into the site and maintain your session.
To display your username and profile picture next to your submissions and on leaderboards.
To track scores and rankings for the competition.
To contact prize winners via email.
To send occasional email updates about the competition (only if you opt-in).
To manage the one-free-haiku limit for guests.

Data Sharing

We do **not** sell or share your personal information (like email or Google ID) with third-party marketers. Your data is only used for the core functionality of League of Prompts.

Data Retention

Logged-in Users: Your account information (ID, username, email, picture, preferences) and submission data are kept as long as your account is active to maintain leaderboards and site functionality.
Guests: Guest submission data is automatically deleted after approximately 3 days. Session cookies expire when you close your browser or after a standard period.

Your Choices

You can change your assigned username in your profile (click your avatar in the top right).
You can opt-in or opt-out of email updates using the toggle below your profile information in the header.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
